Moving a SharePoint Site

Moving a site in SharePoint can be tricky.  There are several methods to try out.

Content and Structure or Template Create/ Use Method

Template Method

If it is a simple site you might be able to create a template using content and then just create site with the new template with content.

Add Feature

Using Powershell remove unwanted features

Create 1 site collection named target.  NOTE: Site collection but must be without a template on a new content database

Using Central Administration Under General Application Settings

For Demo Only … Configure content deployment … Do not require encryptions and Disable Source Status Check

… Configure content deployment paths and jobs … Create a path and schedule job … wait
